Data: Pen name: Kan-shitsu. He was ordained as a Rinzai Zen monk by Torei En'ni who advised him to practice Zen under Gasan Jitou. He moved to Tentaku monastery and practiced under Inzan Ien. Dharma transmission from Inzan Ien. He became the abbot of Kitou-an in Zuisen-ji at the age of 34. He kept on practicing up to his 47th year and then established the monastery to bring up many Zen students.
