Temple: The Obaku sect. The 43rd chief abbot of Manpuku-ji, Obaku. The 23rd abbot of Koju-san Fukuju-ji, Kokura Fukuoka.

Data: Pen name: Gesshu, Shu-donin. Disciple of Raiho Yogo. He practiced Zen under Rozan Ekishu in Koju-san, Senrai Gorei and Dokusho Shinki. He became the 23rd abbot of Kojusan Fukuju-ji in 1888 and then he established the Juzan school. He was selected to be the 43rd chief abbot of the Obaku sect in 1904. He retired and back to Kojusan in 1911. He founded some temples in Fukuoka. His paintings, especially paintings of plum have established a strong reputation.
