Data: Honorific name: Daienkakuo Zenji. He was ordained as a Rinzai Zen monk in Shorin-ji. He met Hakuin Ekaku at the age of 32 and practiced Zen. After receiving Dharma transmission from Hakuin Ekaku, he returned to Shorin-ji and established the monastery. He re-constructed Daijo-ji. He is considered to be one of the main students of Hakuin.
